Children's Pajamas Recalled Due to Burn Injury Hazards

Attorney David Shoop is a fire cause and origin expert and has investigated and processed scores of fire scenes in California and has consulted nationally. Mr. Shoop is a member of the National Fire Protection Association ("NFPA") Research Committee, and he has prepared numerous lectures on NFPA 921 standards as they relate to scene processing and evidence preservation. Our law firm handles catastrophic burn injuries and fatalities throughout the United States and we have recently secured the largest settlement in the history of Merced County for a mass casualty, fire case.

The burn injury lawyers at SHOOP | A PROFESSIONAL LAW CORPORATION advise of a recent, voluntary product recall, instituted on January 8, 2015, involving Star Ride Kids girl's pajama sets. The product defect associated with these various pajama sets involves their failure to meet federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear. This poses an obvious risk of serious burn injuries to children. There are currently just over 7,000 of these pajama sets currently in distribution within the U.S marketplace.

For product identification purposes, this voluntary product recall involves the "Star Ride Kids" pajama sets for girls, which are made of a polyester blend and sold at retail in sizes ranging from four (4) to fourteen (14). The pajamas come in polar fleece pants with a little bow and and elastic waistband, as well as a jersey with longer-sleeved shirts.

Style reference numbers are as follows:
5217; or

These reference numbers can be found on labels located within the side seams of the pajama shirts and the "Star Ride" "Taking It To The Next Level" label can be found situated in each of the waistbands of these various, recalled pajama sets. Also, the brand "Star Ride" can be found printed upon the inner backs of the necks of each of these recalled, pajama shirts - some of which come with a hangtag on the wrists of the long-sleeve tops with the words "flame resistant sleepwear." The sets were sold at retail in various children's boutiques nationally from dates ranging August 2013 to November 2013. They sold at retail for price points ranging between $10.00 and $13.00. They were imported by Star Ride Kids, of New York, N.Y., and manufactured in China.
