Dream On Me Cradle Recall Lawyers

A manufacturer has recently recalled a children's product, in conjunction and cooperation with the United States Consumer Products Safety Commission ("CPSC"), due to associated fall and suffocation hazards.

The Dream On Me, 2-in-1 Bassinet to Cradle was recalled on February 19, 2015 by Dream on Me upon receiving reports from the field describing an incident wherein the wire, frame support brackets related to the product failed, thereby allowing the fabric portion of the bassinet / cradle to collapse and fold while a child was sleeping inside the cradle at the time.

Product Hazards and Defects:

The product defect associated with these, particular recalled units involves its wired supports on either side of the bassinets which can disconnect and thereby cause the sides (consisting of fabric) to lower. This poses an obvious and unacceptable risk of a child potentially falling from the unit or otherwise becoming trapped within it and suffocating.

Who We Are:

The product liability lawyers at SHOOP | A PROFESSIONAL LAW CORPORATION are experts in the handling of product liability matters and we have recovered millions upon millions of dollars for our catastrophically injured clients in product liability-related cases and claims. The lawyers at our firm handle all manner of product liability actions nationally - but perhaps no other case or claim motivates us more than defective products marketed for the use of children and infants. Our lawyers are passionate about making children's products safer and rest assured - our lawyers do not rest until dangerous and defective children's products are removed from the market.

With regard to the subject, recalled cradles / bassinets - there are (currently) an estimated 13,000 such units in distribution within the United States. For product identification purposes, these recalled, 2-in-1 Bassinets to Cradles are sold in multiple colors, including green, white, blue and pink. As discussed above, these recalled units have metal support frames with fabric sides containing a detachable, half-canopy at the tops of the bassinets. The frames are adjustable via the use of legs on either side of the bassinet.

For further product identification purposes, the various model numbers associated with the recalled units are as follows:

439-A;
439-B;
439-G;
439-P; and
439-W

These product identifiers are located on tags located underneath the mattress pads of the bassinets. These recalled products were sold at retail (online) at various sites, including but not limited to Amazon.com, Walmart.com, ToysRUs.com, wayfair.com, and kohls.com. They sold at retail from dates ranging from approximately May of 2012 through October of 2014 for price points of approximately $60. These recalled products were manufactured by Shanghaid Daafu Baby, of China and imported to the U.S. market by Dream on Me Inc., of South Plainfield, New Jersey.
