Defective Products Archives

Is your vehicle part of a recall? Find out in 3 easy steps.

It seems like every other day we hear about another auto recall. In fact, just last month Japanese air-bag manufacturer Takata Corp. had to file for bankruptcy protection due to an air-bag recall involving 100 million potentially defective inflators, according to a report by the Associated Press. With 69 million of these inflators in the United States alone, it represents the largest automotive recall in U.S. history.

I was injured by a defective product, is anyone responsible?

Unfortunately, you can probably find at least a couple defective products on the shelves of many stores today. In fact, almost daily, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) adds additional dangerous and/or defective products to its recall list.

Recall issued for popular baby rattle

Recently, nearly 700,000 baby rattles were recalled due to possible choking hazards. Specifically, the popular "Oball" rattle was recalled because the clear plastic disc on the outside of the ball can break, thereby releasing small beads, which children may put in their mouths and choke on.

Even more dressers recalled because of tip-over hazards

In the news recently, there has been a lot of talk about the tip-over hazards of certain dressers. In one case, there was even a viral video showing a two-year-old boy miraculously saving his twin brother after one of these dangerous dressers fell on him.

Product recall: Baby bath seats fail to meet federal standards

While baby bath seats can certainly make it easier for parents to give their child a bath, it is important to remember that they are simply a bathing aid - and NOT safety devices. The truth is that it only takes a few seconds for a baby to slip out of these seats. In some cases, the suction cups on the bottom of the seats can even detach from the tub's surface, causing the baby to tip over and become trapped underwater.

Potentially dangerous baby products may be in your home

If you are like most parents, nothing is more important to you than the well-being of your newborn. Indeed, whether you are shopping for strollers, cribs or any other product, you only want the best for your infant.
