Countless items in your garage or shed are dangerous to children. One of the biggest household hazards? Lawn mowers.
Unfortunately, you can probably find at least a couple defective products on the shelves of many stores today. In fact, almost daily, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) adds additional dangerous and/or defective products to its recall list.
Volkswagen recently confirmed the recall of more than 576,000 Audi vehicles because of safety concerns. Specifically, the recall involves two different issues: one related to engine fires and another linked to potentially faulty airbags.
According to a report issued by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Christmas trees account for more than 200 home fires, on average, every year. Even worse, Christmas tree fires are more likely to result in death when compared to other types of homes fires. For instance, the same NFPA report found that one out of every 34 Christmas tree fires resulted in a death - compared to the overall average of one death out of every 142 home fires.
